Lemons and Olives team is resourceful, agile and brave. Born in Serbia and having lived through a war in the former Yugoslavia, both founders are experienced in being adaptable and figuring things out, quickly.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lemons and Olives was awarded an emergency government contract by NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY). We were proud to step up for the City and tenacious in our mission to prepare 20,000 meals per day for 2000 Older Adults, home-delivered throughout Queens and Brooklyn 6 days a week.
World Central Kitchen is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. We are honored to have worked closely with the World Central Kitchen during the pandemic and after. We prepared and delivered 3000 nutritious meals per day, 7 days a week, to essential front-line hospital staff throughout New York. We worked with WCK to provide food for the victims of the Bronx fire and to feed the polls during the general election.
